Shipping as a Seller

Shipping requirements, packaging guidelines, and carrier options for sellers.

Shipping Timeframes

You are expected to ship orders within the following timeframes:

  • Fast Shipping Sellers: 1–2 business days after the order is confirmed.
  • Standard Sellers: 3–5 business days after the order is confirmed.
Note: Consistently failing to ship within these timeframes may result in warnings or account suspension. If you anticipate a delay, communicate proactively with the buyer.

Packaging Requirements

Sealed sports card boxes and cases must be packaged securely to prevent damage in transit:

  • Use sturdy boxes or padded mailers appropriate for the item size.
  • Protect corners and edges — sealed boxes are susceptible to corner damage.
  • Use bubble wrap or packing paper for cushioning.
  • Seal packages securely with proper packing tape.
  • For cases or high-value items, double-box when possible.

Shipping Carriers

You may use any standard shipping carrier. Common options include:

  • USPS (United States Postal Service)
  • UPS (United Parcel Service)
  • FedEx
  • Regional carriers
Note: We recommend using a carrier that provides tracking and insurance, especially for higher-value items.

Tracking

You must provide accurate tracking information for every order. After shipping, enter the tracking number and carrier in your order management dashboard. The buyer will be notified automatically. Providing tracking is essential — your payout timing is based on delivery confirmation from the carrier.

Shipping Costs

All orders on Wax Trader include free shipping for buyers. As a seller, you are responsible for the cost of shipping. Factor your average shipping cost into your listing price. For reference, USPS Priority Mail for a typical hobby box costs $8–$15 depending on distance.

Insurance

We recommend insuring shipments for their full value, especially for items over $100. If a package is lost or damaged in transit, having insurance allows you to file a claim with the carrier. Without insurance, you may be responsible for refunding the buyer.
