I Just Sold an Item — What's Next?

What happens after your item sells on Wax Trader, including shipping requirements and payout timing.

Congratulations on Your Sale!

When a buyer purchases one of your listings, here is what happens and what you need to do.

Step 1: You Receive a Notification

You will receive an email notification and an in-app notification as soon as the sale is confirmed. The notification will include the order details, buyer's shipping address, and item information.

Step 2: Ship the Item

Package and ship the item as soon as possible. Shipping timeframes:

  • Fast Shipping Sellers: Ship within 1–2 business days.
  • Standard Sellers: Ship within 3–5 business days.
Note: Consistently failing to ship within these timeframes may result in account warnings or suspension. Pack items securely to prevent damage — use sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and protect corners and edges of sealed product boxes.

Step 3: Add Tracking Information

After shipping, enter the tracking number in your order management dashboard. The buyer will be notified automatically. You can use any major carrier: USPS, UPS, FedEx, or regional carriers.

Step 4: Wait for Delivery

Once the package is delivered and confirmed by the carrier, your payout becomes eligible. Payouts are processed automatically — see "When Do I Get Paid?" for details on payout timing.

What If the Buyer Has an Issue?

If the buyer contacts you about a problem (damaged item, wrong item, etc.), respond promptly and work toward a resolution. Good customer service protects your seller rating and helps avoid disputes escalated to Wax Trader support. See our refund and return policies for more details.
